Snergy is a supplement for instant energy and hydration. It contains the simple carbohydrates dextrose and sucrose and essential vitamins and minerals, which give an instant energy boost and replenish lost energy and electrolyte stores. Each 45 g Snergy sachet provides 163.8 Kcal energy. The drink comes in refreshing and delicious orange and watermelon flavours.
Constituents of Snergy
Dextrose Monohydrate, Sucrose, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Oxide, Taurine, Inositol, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride and Cyanocobalamin, Acidity Regulator (INS 330)
Ingredients and their benefits:
1. Dextrose Monohydrate:
It’s a carbohydrate, naturally rich in calories, and easy for the body to break down, causing an instant energy release. Dextrose ingestion results in an insulin spike, which means more nutrients are transported to the cells. Dextrose gives athletes an energy boost without hitting their glycogen reserves. Dextrose reduces fatigue caused by mental or physical exertion.
2. Sucrose:
The carbohydrate sucrose provides the body with instant energy to perform physical and mental functions. During digestion, sucrose breaks into fructose and glucose, which the body metabolises to release energy to cells.
3. Electrolytes:
Electrolytes lost through sweat can cause an imbalance in body fluid, affecting blood pressure, muscle contraction, and nerve function. Hence, it’s vital to renew lost stores. Snergy contains crucial electrolytes like sodium, potassium, chloride, and magnesium, which help maintain the body’s acid-base balance, prevent muscle cramps, regulate blood pressure, allow proper muscle contraction, and maintain bone strength and healthy nerve function.
4. Vitamins B6 and B12:
Snergy contains vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) and vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin), which help form red blood cells. Lack of red blood cells is associated with reduced aerobic capacity, anaemia, poor stamina, weak muscle strength, and athletic performance. Vitamin B6 plays a role in energy metabolism and stress regulation. A study by Rokitzki L et al. (1994) to study changes in the vitamin B6 status of 13 endurance athletes before and after the marathon concluded that there was a mean loss of approximately 1 mg of vitamin B6 after a marathon. Vitamin B12 helps synthesise red blood cells (optimum level is required for sports activities). It helps in immune function and improves nerve signalling by synthesising neurotransmitters. A lack of vitamin B12 can lead to homocysteine accumulation, anaemia, loss of balance, limb numbness, fatigue, and memory impairment. Athletes must maintain Vitamin B12 levels in the normal range.
5. Taurine and Inositol:
Snergy contains taurine and inositol, which make it different from an ordinary energy drink. Taurine is a conditionally essential amino acid and antioxidant that reduces muscle soreness by neutralising free radicals that can damage healthy cells. It also regulates the fluid-electrolyte balance and boosts immunity and heart and brain health. Taurine enables muscles to work harder and for a longer duration. It helps maintain cell chloride concentration and pH. Inositol is found in high concentrations in the brain in the form of Myo-inositol. It acts as an anti-depressant and boosts serotonin activity, reducing stress and anxiety. It also possesses anti-inflammatory properties.
Benefits of Snergy
1. Instant Energy Source:
Snergy restores energy levels as it contains two carbohydrates, perfect for giving instant energy. It’s easily digestible and does not load the stomach.
2. Maintains body fluid balance:
Snergy is rich in electrolytes like sodium, potassium, chloride, and magnesium, which renew lost electrolyte stores and maintain pH.
3. Prevents Dehydration:
Excess sweating because of high temperature or vigorous physical activity can lead to fluid loss and dehydration. Snergy provides the necessary fluid and minerals to maintain acid-base balance and prevents cells from getting dehydrated.
4. Prevents muscle cramps and improves muscle contraction:
Loss of electrolytes, especially potassium, can lead to muscle spasms and cramps. Snergy contains potassium which regulates the blood flow to muscle cells, preventing muscle soreness, stiffness, and fatigue. Potassium also plays a role in the transmission of nerve signals, stimulating muscle contraction.
5. Maintains a normal heartbeat:
Snergy contains potassium, one of the main electrolytes our heart requires to function normally. Lack of potassium can lead to palpitations and irregular heartbeat.
6. Helps in proper muscle contraction:
Lack of potassium and chloride is associated with weak muscle contractions. Potassium helps transmit nerve signals that stimulate contraction. Snergy contains 236.7 mg of potassium and 675 mg of chloride that optimise both functions.
7. Boosts performance:
Magnesium in Snergy helps transport blood sugar to our muscles and destroys accumulated lactic acid, allowing them to perform for longer.
8. Regulates blood pressure:
Snergy prevents high blood pressure as it contains magnesium, which relaxes smooth muscle cells, leading to effortless blood flow. It also helps maintain a balance between sodium and potassium.
9. Reduces inflammation:
Snergy helps reduce inflammation through the action of pyridoxine (vitamin B6), which regulates homocysteine levels in our body. Elevated levels can lead to inflammation and heart disease.
10. Reduces stress and anxiety:
Pyridoxine and inositol help reduce stress, depression, and anxiety. Vitamin B6 helps produce serotonin and GABA; inositol helps increase serotonin activity in our brain, which uplifts mood and relieves stress.
11. Reduces oxidative stress:
Snergy contains taurine, a powerful antioxidant that scavenges free radicals and helps reduce oxidative stress.
12. Improves aerobic capacity and stamina:
Snergy provides vitamins B6 and B12 required to synthesise red blood cells, which improve strength and stamina. Haemoglobin, a protein present in red blood cells, transports oxygen to the body. A lack of haemoglobin can result in decreased oxygen supply, which affects aerobic capacity, endurance, and stamina. Vitamin B6 is a crucial co-factor for carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism.
Who should take Snergy?
1. Strength Athletes:
Strength athletes like bodybuilders, weightlifters, and powerlifters need high energy levels as their workout demands a lot of strength and power. Snergy provides the necessary fuel an athlete needs to perform to the best of their abilities.
2. Endurance Athletes:
Athletes involved in endurance sports like swimming, cycling, and running need lots of carbohydrates to deliver energy for fulfilling their high endurance needs. They are also always at risk of dehydration due to intense activities and exposure to extreme weather. Snergy meets their increased energy need, prevents muscle cramps and dehydration, improves bone health, and boosts athletic performance.
3. Anyone looking to maintain optimum energy levels:
Not just strength and endurance athletes, everyone tends to lose energy and body salts during day-to-day activities. During summer, exposure to the scorching sun also leads to dehydration and energy loss. Snergy gives an instant energy boost and ensures that muscles do not get tired easily and can recover quickly with the continuous support of hydration.
When should you take Snergy?
Take Snergy at any time of the day. Athletes can consume it before, during, or after intense activity sessions.

I now use Snergy for all 25+km runs as a replacement for energy gels. It’s gentle on the gut, tastes good and doesn’t let me bonk.
May be a different flavour will help as I tend to hate oranges after my long runs ;)
Amazing product.
The flavour of orange is so good. Best one!
I am in love with the orange flavour and it is simply amazing.
